Correct installation and operation of rolling shutters guarantee their safe and durable service life. To keep shutters in good working condition, follow the instructions listed below:

Only qualified personnel trained at DoorHan training centers should install roll-up doors or rolling shutters.

Install rolling shutters following DoorHan operation and installation instructions and technical data sheets.

Rolling shutters should open smoothly without jolts or jamming.

Use only specified equipment for opening and closing of the shutters.

Don’t exert pressure exceeding 100 N when opening the rolling shutters.

Partial opening or closing of the shutters, especially with large curtain area (curtain size more than 3,000 x 2,000 mm), is undesirable.

If the rolling shutter is equipped with a mechanical lock or a latch lock unlock it before opening the shutters.

If rolling shutters are operated with rod crank, hold the crank rod at 45° when turning it. According to EN12453 and 12604 standards one should not exert pressure exceeding 390 N when operating rolling shutters. If the operated rolling shutter is large use emergency manual drive only for closing.

Follow the corresponding operation and installation instructions when using an electric motor.

Do NOT permit children to play on, near the operating area, or with the rolling shutters or to operate controls.

Keep door/window opening clear of people and animals while operating the shutters.

Never stay or cross an opening under a moving shutter curtain as it may cause serious injury.

Don’t strike the shutter curtain or obstruct its movement.

Keep the door/window opening clear of any objects while operating the shutters as it may cause their damage.

Never install any optional equipment or accessories, replace or adjust some shutter parts without prior consultation with the manufacturer (consultation is considered to be a communication describing the arisen problem which can be documented).

In winter, in case of ice coating of rolling shutter parts, it’s necessary to pre-tap the shutter curtain perimeter to release it of ice before operating the shutters. Pay special attention to the place where bottom part of the curtain touches the floor or window sill (keep it clean too).

Carry out rolling shutter maintenance at least once a year.

Should the rolling shutters be used for other purposes or should their size exceeds the recommended one, the manufacturer holds no responsibility for their integrity and correct operation.

Adjustments or repairs must be made by a trained technician using proper tools and instructions.

  1. Opening parameters for overhead mounting: H — opening height (max), mm; B — opening width (max), mm; h1 — headroom (min), mm; b1 and b2 — sideroom clearance (min), mm. Use a measuring tape and a water level, or electronic measuring instruments to take all the necessary measurements. Every dimension should be taken at least in three points. When measuring the opening for overhead mounting take into account walls unevenness and reduce the measuring 5-10 mm.
  2. Observe the following requirements when preparing the opening: the opening must be perpendicular, plumb, and square; it should have smooth and level surfaces having no build-ups of plaster and cracks; the walls should be solid, without cavities (concrete, metal, solid brick); in case of installation on hollow brick wall edge the opening with metal angle; interior and exterior walls in place of the shutter mounting should be flat, without bulges and hollows; deviations of working surfaces from vertical and horizontal should not exceed 1,5-5 mm per meter and the difference of the diagonals — not more than 5 mm.
